Pin Wheel Gift Bags

Pinwheel bag

I used retired designer series paper for this gift bag since this is my first pinwheel attempt.  I am thinking it will be adictive and I am going to use the Summer Smooches designer paper next!  I visited Sandy Murphy's blog and here are her instructions:

"Cut a 4" square and score down the center from point to point on both sides.  Then I cut my piece of designer paper just a tad smaller 3 3/4" square.  Fold your lines real well so you have good creases.  Then I adhered my dp to my square.  Cut up the corners about half way to 3/4 of the way.  Don't go any futher or you pin wheel will be too floppy.  On each corner you will need to punch a small hole with your piercing tool for the brad to go in and you will need another hole right smack dab in the center of your scored "X".  Put your brad in one corner and gently fold over.  Keep bringing each end up and put your brad in each one then put all four into the center hole and fasten down tight.  Voila you have a pretty pin wheel.

If I have confused you, just Google Pin Wheels and you will find some videos out there.  Easy peasy!!!!!!"

I only used dsp and not the cardstock.  My bigger one started with a 4 x 4 square and the smaller was 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 square.  I used the Diagonal plate on my Simply Scored scoring tool which worked very slick! Check back often because I am going to be making more of these!
