Little Mermaid Card

Mermaid card

I made this card for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday which she shared with us.  She was born on New Year's Eve and yesterday was also our 40th wedding anniversary.  We celebrated with her by sharing her Little Mermaid birthday cake before going to church where we received a marriage blessing with most of our family here.  I couldn't resist trying to make her a Little Mermaid card.  I got the idea from Adrienne Albrecht who cased from Shana Gaff.  I wasn't sure exactly what she used so changed a few things and stamped a background with the grass from the Inspired by Nature stamp set, using versamark ink.  Then I used the bird punch, the flower punch from the Itty Bitty punch pack, the extra large oval punch, the 1 1/4 in. circle punch, the 2.5 inch circle punch, the 1 inch square punch, the word window punch, the heart to heart punch, the ornament punch, the owl punch, and the modern label punch.  Whew, that is alot of punches! The designer series paper is from the Brights designer series pack, tempting turquoise.  The card base is also tempting turquoise.  I also used Poppy Red, and retired Blush Blossom cardstock, but you could use Blushing Bride. Then I sponged Frost White shimmer paint over the designer series paper.  She liked the card which made it all worthwhile.
